Deputy Minister Morolong to Lead G20 Outreach Programme and District Development Model (DDM) Engagement with Multi-Stakeholder in Kwazulu-Natal Province
Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Mr Kenny Morolong, along with the MEC for Transport and Human Settlement, Mr Siboniso Duma, and local mayors, will lead the G20 Outreach Programme and District Development Model (DDM) engagement with stakeholders, including amakhosi, civil society, and other organised groups in KwaZulu-Natal. The event will be held in uMgungundlovu District Municipality, Pietermaritzburg, on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
The G20 Multi-Stakeholder Session will provide an inclusive platform for information sharing and community engagement with government leaders. It will empower community representatives to actively participate in discussions on pressing global issues, exchange knowledge, negotiate positions, and collaboratively develop proposals. The session aims to foster consensus and actionable recommendations to be considered at the G20 Social Summit.
The Deputy Minister will also visit identified projects within the district as part of the District Development Model to review progress on the District One Plan, which is Mountain Onyx a timber-processing and furniture-production factory located in the uMshwathi Local Municipality area.
